TAX CREDIT DONATIONS
Taxpayers filing in Arizona have the unique opportunity to redirect a portion of state tax dollars they already pay, to public education. The credit allows an Arizona taxpayer to contribute $200 per individual tax return or $400 per joint tax return to a school’s extra curricular program. Gilbert Public Schools has many extracurricular activities or programs that can benefit from these funds!  Extracurricular activity means any optionalnoncredit activity that supplements the education program of the school.  Activities such as field trips, after-school enrichment programs, character education, clubs, athletics, visual & performing arts, and in-state or out-of-state trips solely for competitive events can be funded with tax credit money. Senior trips or events that are recreational, amusement, or tourist activities CANNOT be funded with tax credit money.

The Tax Credit option is, once again, available through the Community Education online system for eligible programs. 

If you are registering or scheduling days for a program that is eligible to use tax credit, you will see an option to “Apply as Tax Credit” with a drop down defaulting to NO.  If you want to submit payment as a tax credit, use the drop down and select “Yes”.  On the payment page, TAX CREDIT will be noted where you enter your credit card information. If you are submitting a registration/schedule where both programs are not eligible for tax credit, the option to pay using tax credit will not be available. Please submit the registration/schedule separately if you are wanting to use the tax credit option. Please remember all tax credit payments are NON-REFUNDABLE. 

Each payment transaction has an invoice number associated with it.  Any payment submitted as a tax credit will show TC before the invoice number (ex. TC407859). You will find this information on the STATEMENT tab in your family account.

A confirmation receipt for your payment will be emailed, if an email address was provided, with the Subject: Transaction Receipt from Gilbertpubschtaxdonation.  This is the ONLY tax credit receipt you will receive.  A separate tax credit receipt WILL NOT be mailed, as in the past.  Please retain a copy of this tax credit receipt for your records.

TAX STATEMENT REQUESTS
Tax Statements for childcare paid to Community Education are available by logging into your family account at https://family.gpscommed.com/login.jsp . Click on STATEMENT to enter a date range. To view past years, click on VIEW YEAR, select year you need and click VIEW. You can then print the DETAIL YEAR END which will include all payments made for the year selected.

If tax credit payments have been made through the Community Education family portal, the invoice number on your statement will have TC in front of the number (ie. TC123456).

The Gilbert Unified School District’s Tax ID Number is 86-6000530 which is listed on the statement.
